Great news from "This Old House" with regard to Historic Springfield

This came out recently with regard to Historic Springfield:

One of Jacksonville’s historic neighborhoods has received an endorsement of its charm from a national publication.

This Old House has named the Springfield neighborhood as one of the best in the South for 2013. The magazine says that fixer-uppers in Springfield can start at $40,000; fully restored homes can range from $250,000 to $275,000.

Last week, Urban Land Institute North Florida explored commercial opportunities in Springfield.

Buying in Springfield can be tricky, I recently sold a house on Market Street, but it was new construction. Many of the $40,000 homes are truly fixer-uppers and have a need for a LOT of work. Call me if you are interested in looking at properties in Historic Springfield, or.....if you are interested in Historic Riverside / Avondale.
